- The Stone: Three textures of black. The high-gloss beads are polished obsidian. This is volcanic glass formed when lava cools so fast that crystals have no time to form. The matte black beads are also obsidian, but with the reflective surface stripped back to a soft, understated finish. The rough, porous beads are lava stone.
